Mojo Juju ~ Native Tongue
Raw and honest, Mojo Juju’s breakthrough album Native Tongue has seen her star rise as a songwriter, performer and voice for change. At the 2019 National Indigenous Music Awards, Native Tongue won both Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Julu performed at the 2019 SXSW festival, has appeared on the ABC’s Q&A, SBS’s The Feed and VICE, and featured in The Guardian. Recently she’s collaborated with internationally acclaimed producers, Clams Casino and Damian Taylor.
In late November 2019, Mojo Juju and her band perform the award-winning album; in Sydney at the City Recital Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre. The title track explores her sense of cultural displacement in Australia, having a Filipino father and Indigenous Australian mother. Its powerful music video, featuring the Pasefika Vitoria Choir and Djuki Mala dancers, is directed by Claudia Sangiorgi.
